The exhibition explores the rich intersection of aviation, tourism and Irish design, showcasing how air travel helped shape Ireland's visual culture, international identity and design heritage. Running until 17 December 2026, the exhibition has already sparked significant interest among audiences interested in design history, culture and innovation.
Shifting Skies: Influences of and on Irish Aviation

As part of the wider research project, Dr King will convene Shifting Skies: Influences of and on Irish Aviation, a one day interdisciplinary symposium at the Royal Irish Academy.
Bringing together experts from a wide range of disciplines, the symposium will explore aviation's impact on Irish society through discussions on design and manufacturing, architecture, politics, environmentalism, gastronomy, economics, literature, engineering and international relations.
The event complements the Come Fly With Me exhibition and has been made possible through the support of Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland's New Foundations Programme and the Royal Irish Academy.

An Evening of Talks with Dr Linda King and the Stone Twins

As part of Irish Design Week 2026, Dr Linda King will join internationally renowned Irish designers The Stone Twins for a special evening of talks at the National Print Museum.
Inspired by themes emerging from Come Fly With Me, the event will explore the creative connections between Irish and Dutch design. Dr King will discuss the research and stories behind the exhibition, while Declan Stone, of The Stone Twins, will reflect on the studio's acclaimed graphic design practice and experience working between Ireland, Amsterdam and The Hague.
The event is sponsored by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Dublin and the National Print Museum.
