A creative community art workshop took place on Saturday 23rd May in IADT’s print studio, bringing together volunteers from DLR and international protection applicants in a creative collaboration. The event was organised as part of DLR Volunteer Centre Integration Project led by Élida Sousa, in partnership with IADT. It was facilitated by Misha Abbas, a recent graduate of IADT’s Design for Change programme.
Drawing on her design background, Misha guided participants through the process of creating colourful motifs. Each motif is an expression from the individual artist and are set to become part of a larger, collective artwork. A second workshop is planned to bring even more contributions into the piece.
Once complete, the work will be displayed at the DLR Lexicon Library during Refugee Week in June. The collaboration reflects a growing commitment across all DLR to building meaningful connections through creativity.
